Minimize Your Data, Minimize your Risk
Everybody knows that unstructured data growth is out of control; we’ve all heard the stats. Egnyte’s own internal data suggests that in most enterprises, content grows by 50% about every 18-months. What’s not as well known is that within that data, an estimated 30% is considered ROT: redundant, obsolete, or trivial data. Keeping data that is duplicative, outdated or unused isn’t just a driver of storage costs, or an obstacle for users, it is inherently risky. Enterprise content is full of sensitive data, from PII to banking information, and trade secrets. The more content you house, the more risk you introduce, making you vulnerable to compliance violations and breaches.
In this session, Jeff will showcase analytics from Egnyte’s data science team and a case study of a large enterprise that drastically reduced their data footprint.
