The University of Kent is home to the Institute of Cyber Security for Society (iCSS) one of only 19 UK Universities recognised as a Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research. Our research focuses on four core themes of Authentication and Authorisation, Communication and Network Security, Security testing and Verification, and Socio-technical Security and Privacy. We also have expertise in Quantum Security, AI & Security, Digital forensics, and information hiding.
Our subject experts are leaders in their field, with real-world experience of delivering business solutions. We work with businesses in many different areas, including but not limited to industry-funded PhDs and research projects, professional training, joint research and innovation projects such as those funded by Innovate UK, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, paid consultancy work, and serving as a partner.
