Malcolm joined Defra in 2017 and was appointed to the Defra Chief Technology Officer role in January 2019. With a background in the energy sector and experience of both the private and public sector delivery, Malcolm is a technologist with expertise in architecture, digital strategy, data management and innovation. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society, Chartered Engineer, Chair of the Industrial Advisory Board of the University of Surrey Computing Department and volunteers with the Scouts in his spare time.
